Our Rates & Fees

At Craig’s Maintenance Services, we believe in transparent, upfront pricing. Our goal is to provide exceptional value through high-quality workmanship, unparalleled experience, and professional service with no hidden costs.

Standard Labour Rate

Our standard labour rate for all handyman, repair, and construction services is:

$75 per hour

We apply a minimum charge of one hour for any call-out. This simple, flat rate ensures you receive the same high standard of service for every job, big or small.

Call-Out Fee

A $30 vehicle call-out fee applies to all jobs within the Wellington region.
If the job is less than 15 minutes, and within 15 minutes of Wellington,
(ie. excludes Kapiti, Horowhenua)
we waive the Vehicle fee 
and just charge for an hour $75)

All rates & pricing include GST at 15%

After Hours Rates & Surcharges

Our standard office hour rates apply from Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Work carried out after-hours and on Saturdays will incur a 50% surcharge, while services provided on Sundays and public holidays are subject to a 100% surcharge.

After-hours work is not part of our regular service, but we may be available in emergency situations, special circumstances, or by prior arrangement. Please note that surcharges may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis depending on the situation.

Why do we charge a Call-Out  / Vehicle Maintenance Fee?

This fee is not just for showing up; it is a necessary component that covers the real-world costs of running a professional mobile service. It contributes to travel time, vehicle running costs, and the initial time required on-site to properly assess your needs before the work begins. This ensures we can continue to provide a prompt, reliable service to all our clients.

Quotations for Large Projects

For larger jobs, such as renovations or significant construction work, we provide a detailed written quotation to give you a clear understanding of the total investment required.

  • Free Quotation: If you accept our written quote and proceed with the job, the quoting service is completely free.
  • $50 Quote Rejection Fee: For large projects, if you decide not to proceed with the work after receiving our detailed written quote, a $50 fee will apply. For smaller projects, and quick quotes across the phone, we do not charge this fee.

Creating an accurate, comprehensive quote requires significant professional time and effort. It involves a detailed on-site assessment, careful calculation of materials, and leveraging decades of experience to scope the project correctly and anticipate any potential challenges. This fee protects our professional time and ensures we can dedicate the necessary attention to detail for every client who requests a formal quote.

Payment Information

An invoice will be issued upon completion of the work. Payment can be made via bank transfer and is due within 7 days of the invoice date.
